Cricket continued over the weekend with the 1s and 2s having wins over Sunshine United Cricket Club. The first X1 held on in a nail biting finish in a game that ebbed and flowed with plenty of momentum swings across both days! Captain Coach Mitch Johnstone led the way with 5 wickets while Trent Lawford (3 wickets) and Jackson Martin (2 wickets) kept the pressure on and saw us home by 5 runs.
The 2s played their first home game for the season and were pretty dominant with a 69 run win. Young Aydin Huseyin led the way with 43, Kane with 38 and Porter with 22. All the bowlers were excellent restricting Sunny United to just 103 from 40 overs!
3rds went down pretty easily to Seddon at Seddon. Dallas Hood top scored with 38 whilst youngster Issam Sami showed plenty of promise with 33*.
4ths were at home as well and went down pretty convincingly against East Keilor. The evergreen David Boudrie top scoring with 43 whilst VC Matt Cruz made 29.
The 5ths had their first loss of the season, going down by 5 wickets to top team Altona Sports. Youngster Callum Cheong had a great game with 54 and 2 wickets, Aaron Cornish made 46 whilst youngsters Marco Parpinel and Sam Cheesley got their first senior wickets!!
