Mitch Johnstone appointed as Captain/Coach for season 2019/20

It is with great pleasure the club can announce that Mitch Johnstone has accepted the role of Captain Coach of our great club as of Season 2020/2021.

Mitch has vast experience both playing and coaching at Premier Level, where he has spent the last 3 seasons as Head Coach at Essendon, while captaining their 2nd XI.
Here are just a few of Mitch’s achievements:

• Senior Coach/2nd XI Captain of Essendon CC in Premier Cricket 2017/18 – 2019/20
• Two playing stints at Essendon CC – 2005-2013 & 2017-2020
• Club Championship with Essendon CC in Premier Cricket in 2018/19

Mitch is very excited to come aboard, and has already started planning out Season 2020/21. He is very keen to continue to develop our emerging junior players and give them the guidance and experience they need to become the future of our club.
In addition to this, Mitch is very passionate about club culture and history, and is looking to ensure that he instills those values in everything we do as a club.

YCCC Junior Academy Returns For Season 2020/21

Our hugely successful off season Junior Academy is back for Season 2020/21, giving talented junior players from the west the opportunity to develop their game under the tutelage of some of the most experienced coaches and players that local cricket has to offer. The aim of the Clubbers Academy is to provide a development opportunity for talented young players in the west of Melbourne to learn and enhance their skills and knowledge of the game.
