In 1970 Barney Meddings, Gerry Morrison and Bill Cunningham from the disbanded Kingsville and Yarraville Band Cricket club met with the Committee from the Yarraville club to ask for financial assistance to start a cricket side.
The Yarraville club agreed to fund equipment and such was the humble beginnings of the Yarraville club cricket club.
From that day on, Yarraville Club Cricket Club has endeavoured to become, and remain, the benchmark club in Melbourne.
As a result of the hard work and determination of the committee, coaches and players over the past 40 years, the club boasts 20+ Premierships, including 8 of the last 10 Senior Division flags.
Add to this, the implementation of a junior program in 1999 has not only added 8 more premierships, but has also produced an endless array of homegrown talent that have gone on to play senior cricket at YCCC.
With an anticipated 4 senior sides, 2 junior sides, as well as a thriving Milo In2 Cricket program and an All-Abilities program for season 2016/2017, the outlook for Yarraville Club is as bright as it has ever been.
